About Us
Our Aim is
- To advance the education of children from 2 ½ to 5 years, providing high-quality care and education.
- To work in partnership with parents to help children learn to develop.
- To add to the life and well being of the local community.
- To work within and provide an environment that ensures and promotes equality and values diversity for all children and families.
Joining Pre-School is a happy time for your child, and we at Little Saplings provide a warm and caring environment, within which children can learn and develop through play.
As a member of Little Saplings Pre-School, your child:
- Is in a safe and stimulating environment;
- Is given generous care and attention, because of our high ratio of adults to children;
- Has the chance to join in with other children and adults to live, play, work and learn together;
- Is helped to take forward their learning and development by being helped to build on what they already know and can do;
- Has a personal Key person who provides physical and emotional support as well as recording their development.
- Is in a pre-school which sees you as a partner in helping your child to learn and develop; and
- Is in a Pre school in which parents help to shape the service it offers.
The Pre-School is registered for 30 children per session. Each main session is run by the Play leader and 4 members of staff. We have a staff-to-child ratio of 1 to 8 for those over the age of 3 and of 1 to 4 for those children who are under 3.
Inclusion
Our Pre-School is for children between 2½ years – 5 years. It offers a structured setting, supervised by qualified staff. We are open 38 weeks per year, generally in line with lower school openings.
In accordance with our Equality and Diversity policy, we aim, to the best of our abilities, to accept all children, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity or physical or mental ability, and we have previously provided one-to-one support for children recommended by their Health Visitor and/or the Child Development Centre. This can be a great help in assisting special needs children to go on to school confidently. Should you have any queries/concerns regarding this, please discuss with the Leader.
As part of our inclusion strategy, we also accept children in pull-ups.
